The history of Invicta watch begins in 1837 with the first affordable timepiece crafted by Swiss watchmaker, Raphael Picard. His thinking was that Swiss quality, durability and beauty ought to be available to everyone at an affordable price. His new brand was named for the Latin word "invincible" - Invicta. For decades Invicta watch grew in acceptance as a high quality, lower priced, Swiss watch brand. Sales slowed down a bit in the 1970s as the Quartz watch phenomenon was introduced. However, a comeback in the last 14 years with the development of its own movement calibers as well as the introduction of the sensational Lupah Swiss Chronograph have helped Invicta regain its popularity and claim as one of the best selling, high performance watches.
